SWFC Trust Statement on SWFC Season Ticket Prices for 21/22 Season
Reduction in season ticket prices is welcome bringing prices broadly into line with larger clubs in League One and Championship. It is pleasing that the club have recognised they could not continue to charge Premier League prices in League One, and we hope a positive signal of further changes at the club yet to come.
However, only time will tell if the reduction in prices is big enough to repair damage done by successive years of higher prices, at a time when SWFC desperately needs to reconnect with a wider fan base.
The Trust were disappointed that the club have decided not to offer refunds to those supporters who might want a refund 20/21 season tickets. The Trust has spoken to the club privately on this matter, and the engagement panel collectively have also made the case refunds should be offered.
For many people, circumstances have changed drastically since they bought their ticket in January 2020, and some might really need the financial boost that came from a refund. Offering refunds for 20/21, and delivering on the payment of refunds owed from 19/20, would help SWFC re-connect with its fan base. It is something that the Trust intends to bring up with the club again.
