Representatives from the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust met with the EFL on Thursday 9 October 2025 to discuss the deteriorating situation at the club.
The Trust raised concerns across five key areas — including the club’s funding position, regulatory breaches, disciplinary proceedings, and the divestment process — and pressed for clarity on what steps the EFL can take to protect Sheffield Wednesday’s future.
The EFL acknowledged the seriousness of the current position, confirmed disciplinary hearings are expected before the end of the year, and reiterated that the responsibility for resolving the crisis rests with the club’s ownership.
