As the days pass the desperate need for new ownership at Sheffield Wednesday becomes ever more apparent due to Dejphon Chansiri’s systematic destruction of our football club.

Having recently engaged in useful and constructive conversations with those who could lead Sheffield Wednesday and our community to a brighter future, we thought it time to remind everyone of our minimum requirements of any new owner at Hillsborough, which include:

These expectations were originally established in our ‘Better Wednesday’ document published in June 2025. You can read the full report here.

Tomorrow the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust will release the opening publication of several examining Dejphon Chansiri’s business interests and what we perceive as anomalies in the SWFC accounts.

Our research shows strong correlation between lack of transparency in funding sources and persons involved, and the mismanagement of our football club.

We should aspire for new owners at Sheffield Wednesday that have verifiable wealth, prior examples of business success and/or experience in sports, and a culture that will lead them to be good custodians of our football club. Unsavoury characters and those linked with the past should have no role in the future, while the sort of new owners we need are being frustrated by the so-called sales process, which has been put in place

It is the belief of the Sheffield Wednesday Supporters’ Trust that our football club cannot withstand another ‘bad owner’, poor leadership at Sheffield Wednesday meaning we have been in a mismanaged decline since the mid-1990s, a fall that has seen us plummet from Premier League contenders to a yo-yo club between Championship and League One.

Our fanbase and our community deserve better, we believe now is the time to demand it.
